Since dental disease is one of the most commonly diagnosed problems in our dogs and cats we have the facilities to perform dental cleanings and extractions. This is done under a general anesthesia to allow us to thoroughly clean all surfaces above and below the gum line as well as polish the teeth. Anesthesia is also the only way for us to be able to accurately assess each tooth and dental x-rays can also be done to help with this assessment.
We use digital dental x-rays to help us visualize below the gum line of your pet’s teeth so as not to miss such conditions as abscessing teeth, cavities (especially in cats) or broken teeth. Having routine dental cleaning is not only the best way to prevent tooth loss in your dog or cat but can be one of the best ways to ensure they stay healthy and with you for many years to come.
